welcome...

Leeds' Historic Blue Plaques scheme began with the first unveiling of a plaque in 1987. Operated by the Civic Trust, the plaques celebrate the heritage of the city and aim to promote public awareness. More information about the Civic Trust and the plaques can be found here.

This site has been created in order to map the location of the plaques.

The map section displays a navigable googlemap, each of the blue markers signifying a plaque.

The references section contains information on how the site was built and further links to other blue plaques related sites.

The images to the right and those contained in the map are taken from a project by Tom Smith and linked with his kind permission.
